Evi-Evan
by Bia Papadopoulou

Annita Argyroiliopoulou also interlaces eroticism with nature. Ιn her installation, the biomorphic organic Forms that rhythmically extend in space contain clear references to the innate erotic quality and sensuality or nature`s shapes. Apart from recalling the recyclement or the seasons,
Argyroheliopoulou, like Skaltsas, hints to the mythological version of Dionysus as well, according to which the god is reborn in spring in order to die again in winter. The sole Olympian god who perpetually alternates between life and death, Dionysus bears as symbols, among others, elements derived From nature: the vineyard and the myrtle.
